The Parjadin Peninsula is a peninsula on the northwestern end of South Georgia . It is located between Elsehul in the northeast, Undine Harbor and Johan Harbor in the southeast, Bird Sound in the north and the open South Atlantic in the south and west.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 2002 based on the names of Cape Parjadin and Paryadin Ridge , both of which are located on the peninsula. Its namesake is Jakow Porjadin [sic], navigator of the ship Vostok , next to the Mirny one of two ships of the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819-1821) under the direction of Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen .
