Parker's Mood is a jazz album released on Blue Note Records in 2005 by Stefano Di Battista .

background

The album was recorded by Di Battista as a tribute to Charlie Parker . The selected pieces either come from Parker or have been recorded by him. All the pieces were recorded by Di Battista in close proximity to Parker's original recordings, which was partly positively and partly negatively received by the critics.

Di Battista is accompanied by his long-time companion, Flavio Boltro | on the trumpeter, with whom he already recorded his debut album, and the bass player Rosario Bonaccorso. With the pianist Kenny Barron and the drummer Herlin Riley , two American musicians were also engaged for the recordings.

criticism

Kyle O'Brien questioned the sense of the album at the Jazz Society of Oregon, as it is a true-to-note replay of the original recordings. It would only show that contemporary saxophonists can also play the bop, otherwise one should listen to the original recordings. Stephen Latessa praised the album on allaboutjazz for the good intention of the album and called it highly entertaining.
