Parliamentary election in the Republic of Moldova in 1994
The 1994 parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova took place on Sunday, February 27, 1994. It was the first parliamentary election in Moldova, which has been independent since 1991.
Electoral system
There are 104 seats in the Moldovan Parliament for a legislature dominated by four years. A four percent threshold was applied to the approved parties . The election was based on proportional representation .
Election result
The winner of the election was the Agrarian Democratic Party of Moldova (PDAM). She got 43.18 percent of the vote and got 56 seats in parliament. The electoral block " Socialist Party and Unified Movement " (BePSMUE) landed in second place with 22 percent . The third strongest force was the "Bloc of Peasants and Intellectuals" (BŢI) with 9.21 percent.
