Parodia allosiphon is a species of plant in the genus Parodia in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet allosiphon is derived from the Greek words allos for 'different' or 'different' and siphon for 'pipe'.

description

Parodia allosiphon usually grows individually. The cloudy green spherical shoots reach heights of growth of 8 to 12 centimeters (rarely up to 18 centimeters) and diameters of 11 to 13 centimeters (rarely up to 18 centimeters). The apex of the shoot is sunk and almost thornless. The 15 to 16 ribs are rounded and humped. The areoles on them sit between the humps and are initially covered with wool. The four thin, dark red central spines turn gray with age. They have lengths of 0.9 to 1.9 centimeters. The upper central spine is protruding, the rest spreading. The two to six radial spines are similar to the central spines, but are shorter and thinner.

The white flowers have a light yellow glow. They reach a diameter of 5 to 6 centimeters and lengths of up to 5.5 centimeters. Your pericarpel and the flower tube are covered with dense, grayish-brown wool and scales. The yellowish green, non-tearing fruits are dry when ripe and 2.5 to 3 centimeters long. The fruits contain dull black seeds that are humped.
