Parodia fusca is a species of plant in the genus Parodia in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet fusca is derived from the Latin word fuscus for 'dark brown' and refers to the color of the hairs of the species surrounding the flower.

description

Parodia fusca grows individually. The green, spherical shoots reach a diameter of 4 to 7 centimeters. The apex of the shoot is sunk. The 19 to 26  ribs are wavy. The areoles located on them are covered with thick white wool. The needle-like thorns stick out more or less. The two, occasionally four and then crossed, central spines are purple-red and have a reddish base. They have a length of 1 to 2.5 centimeters. The twelve to 16 yellowish brown radial spines are 0.5 to 1.2 centimeters long.

The sulfur-yellow flowers reach lengths of up to 3 centimeters. Your pericarpel and the flower tube are covered with thick white wool, small scales and hair. The scar is dark red or sometimes light yellow. The initially olive-green fruits turn reddish later and are 1.8 to 2.5 centimeters long. They contain cloudy black seeds that are finely tuberous.
