The party conference of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany on November 22nd and 23rd, 2019 at the exhibition grounds in Leipzig was the 32nd regular party conference of the CDU . Since only one by-election had to be held, this was a programmatic party congress . Silvia Breher was elected to succeed Ursula von der Leyen as deputy chairwoman .

procedure

On the agenda was u. a. the discussion on two proposals from the federal executive committee “Sustainability, Growth, Prosperity - The Social Market Economy of Tomorrow” and the “Digital Charter Innovation Platform: D - Distributed Systems and Open Interfaces for the Digital Future”.

After the Junge Union had requested a primary election of the next candidate for Chancellor of the Union parties, the delegates rejected this request at the party congress.
