Silvia Breher (* 23. July 1973 in Löningen as Silvia gap ) is a German lawyer and politician of the CDU . Breher won the Cloppenburg-Vechta constituency in the 2017 federal election . Since November 22, 2019 , she has been deputy party leader of the CDU .

Life

Breher grew up on a farm in Lindern . After graduating from the Copernicus-Gymnasium Löningen, she studied law at the University of Osnabrück . At the end of 2000, Breher began working as a freelance lawyer. From 2011 to 2017 she was the managing director of the Vechta District People's Association, the local farmers' representative. Breher has three children and lives in Lindern.

Political commitment

Breher is a member of the CDU and is involved in the Cloppenburg district association. In 2014/15, Breher was a member of the CDU Commission for Sustainable Living - Preserving Quality of Life and has headed the Rural Areas, Environment and Homeland Committee of the CDU Regional Association of Oldenburg since 2017 . Breher has been chairwoman of the CDU district association of Cloppenburg and the CDU city association of Löningen since 2018. In March 2019 she was elected chairwoman of the CDU regional association in Oldenburg and is thus a member of the CDU regional executive committee in Lower Saxony .

MPs

In the 2017 federal election, Breher won the Cloppenburg-Vechta constituency with 57.7 percent of the first votes, the highest first vote result of all candidates nationwide. In general, the constituency is considered a safe party stronghold for the CDU; with Breher, her share of first votes was below 60 percent for the first time since 1949.

Breher is a member of the 19th German Bundestag and a full member of the Committee on Food and Agriculture and the Committee on Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. In addition, she is a deputy member of the Civic Commitment subcommittee. She is also the secretary of the German Bundestag.
