The Partuloidea are a superfamily of snails from the subordination of land snails (Stylommatophora). The species of the Partuloidea are native to the islands in the Pacific. Most of the species are endemic ; H. occur only on a single island.

features

The housings are medium to large in size, the shape varies from highly conical, through more oval to spherical. The mouth is often enlarged with folded edges. Lamellae or plicae are missing, but short teeth can protrude into the mouth. The sole is not divided. The jaw belongs to the goniognathic type; it is very thin and built up on numerous flat plait-like structures which converge downwards towards the center. The kidney belong to Orthuretra-type, is approximately triangular and is approximately twice as long as the pericardial sac (pericardium). The ureters are open (as cilia). In the hermaphroditic genital apparatus, the penis is usually simple, without an epiphallus; a flagellum may be present or absent. The penis retractor attaches to the tip or just below the tip of the penis. The spermatic duct originates below the albumin gland. The prostate is relatively small. The spermoviduct is very short, while the stem of the spermatheque is relatively long.

Systematics

The superfamily contains only two families, of which the Draparnaudiidae family is monotypical. Schileyko (1999) excludes a suborder ("infraorder") Partuloidei Schileyko & Starobogatov, 1988, which only contains the family Partulidae. But it is not recognized by other authors.
