The Paso Saravia is a mountain pass crossed by crevasses in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . It offers access from the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf to the polar plateau around 300 km south of the Argentinean Belgrano II station .
Argentine scientists used it for a traverse from 1964 to 1965 from the Belgra II station to the geographic South Pole . It is named after César Cao Saravia (1918–1988), who contributed to the financing of the company through an appeal for donations in the city of Salta .
