Pasticcio (radio broadcast)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pasticcio is the name of a daily music program on the Austrian radio station Ö1 of the ORF . The first issue went on air on January 2nd, 1980. It is broadcast between 8:15 and 8:55 a.m. and is mostly dedicated to a specific music theme - for example, the change of time , the mood, certain instruments, epochs, the program music or the comparison of epochs . The moderation is carried out by a team of four to five music journalists, who sometimes also invite a guest artist.

The music epochs covered range from the Middle Ages to the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods to jazz, and occasionally twelve-tone music.

The name of the program is based on the term pasticcio , because it usually compares works by different composers directly.

The Ö1 Pasticcio Prize has been awarded every month since 2003. This prize, founded by Helmut Jasbar , is awarded in the pasticcio show every last Thursday of the month to a selected CD production by musicians living in Austria. Since March 2011, the award ceremony has taken place in cooperation with the newspaper Der Standard . To date, recordings by Christof Dienz , Friedrich Kleinhapl , Hermine Haselböck , Peter Waldner , the Apollon Musagète Quartet and the groups Federspiel and Franui have received awards .
