Pat and Paul are a German singing duo of folk music . Pat, alias Renate Schweers b. Koch (born April 17th in Lüneburg ) and Paul Horst Schweers (born December 28th in Jülich ) have been married since 1970 and have two sons, Oliver and Thorsten. Today you live in the Lüneburg Heath .

Career

The two met in the late 1960s and in 1969 their joint career began in the field of folk music. Pat previously worked as an office clerk , Paul as a physiotherapist . In their own recording studio, they mostly produced and composed their own tracks, which became very popular in the 1970s and 1980s. Their first big success was the title Songs that come from the heart , with which they took 1st place in a television competition.

Numerous songs followed, mostly dealing with North German topics, especially the heath . They also added old folk songs to their repertoire.

In 1986 the duo applied for the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1986 , but their song Nur ein kleine Blick did not reach the final. With Es war Frühling in der Heide they tried again at the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1988 , but this title could not reach the final either.

They were more successful at the Lower Saxony competition Lieder as beautiful as the north in 1990 , when they achieved a remarkable 8th place with the song Zwischen Harz und Heide .

The duo can only be seen occasionally at television events today. Today her focus is on the production of folk music for other performers.
