Patric-Alexander Kreuz is a German classical archaeologist .

Life

From 1991 to 1994 Kreuz studied Classical Archeology, Provincial Roman Archeology and Ancient History at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , from 1994 to 1995 in Athens and 1995 to 1999 at the University of Cologne . After completing his Magister Artium in Cologne in 1999 ( Master's thesis : “Imperial sanctuaries in the northern Syrian limestone massif”), he completed a doctoral degree at the University of Cologne from 2000 to 2004 ( dissertation : “The grave reliefs from the Bosporan Empire”). From 2004 to 2005 he was a research assistant in the research project "Diplomatic Gifts" as a hermeneutical problem in acculturation research: The influence of the Greeks on the Scythians of the grass steppe "" at the Archaeological Institute of the Free University of Berlin (project leader: Martin Langner ). From 2005 to 2010 He worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Archaeological Sciences at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum , from 2010 to 2018 as Academic Councilor . From 2016 to 2018, he taught as a long-term lecturer in archeology for the German Academic Exchange Service at the Department of Cultural Resources Management & Conservation at the University of Jordan ; in Bochum he was on leave of absence. After his habilitation in 2018 at the University of Bochum ( habilitation thesis : "The visible difference. Facets of urban difference in Roman Upper Italy") he became professor for urban archeology at Christian-Albrechts on September 1, 2018 - University of Kiel .
