Patricia Elsmore-Sautter , b. Sautter , (born February 28, 1979 in Schaffhausen ) is a Swiss ice hockey goalkeeper who was active for many years in the Swiss women's ice hockey team and took part in the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Career

Patricia Sautter began playing ice hockey in 1986 at EHC Schaffhausen and rose to the first division with its men's team in 1998.

Between 2001 and 2005 she studied at the University of Minnesota Duluth and played for their college team, the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs , in the NCAA . In 2002 and 2003, she won the NCAA championship with the Bulldogs, the so-called Frozen Four . After college, she played for the Roseau Rams and Duluth City.

Since 2007 she has supported the Swiss national team both as an assistant coach and as a substitute goalkeeper. She also works in Minnesota as a trainer, including for Roseau High School and the College of St. Scholastica.

International

Elsmore-Sautter played in a large number of world and European championships as well as other international tournaments for the Swiss national ice hockey team for women . She was honored several times as the best goalkeeper of the respective tournament. At the 1997 World Cup , Sautter was elected to the tournament's all-star team, making it the first Swiss player to receive this honor.

At the opening game of the 2006 Winter Olympics against the USA , Sautter caused a lot of media coverage when she saved over 50 shots on goal.
