Patricia Hardy

Patricia Hardy (born December 23, 1931 in New York City , New York - † August 20, 2011 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

Life

Hardy was of Irish- American descent. She was born in Brooklyn , New York . In her youth, Hardy took part in several beauty pageants. You have been voted Miss Brooklyn, Miss Coney Island and Miss New York Press Photographer. She worked as a model and was once on the cover of Look magazine .

She began her artistic career in show business with appearances in the New York nightclub Copacabana , where she appeared alongside comedians such as Danny Thomas and Jimmy Durante . In the early 1950s, Hardy went to Hollywood with the aim of pursuing a career as a film actress.

She made her film debut in 1953 in the crime film Women in the Night . She had a leading role in 1956 in the rock 'n' roll film Ausser Rand und Band 2. Teil , the follow -up film to the successful music film Ausser Rand und Band ; she played Francine MacLaine, the pretty daughter of a gossip columnist.

She played episode roles and guest roles in numerous American television series in the 1950s . In the 1953 episode The Unlighted Road from the CBS television series Schlitz Playhouse , she starred opposite James Dean . She had television appearances until the end of the 1950s in the television series The Count of Monte Cristo (1956), Letter to Loretta (1956), Lassie (1956), West Point (1957), Mike Hammer (1958), State Trooper (1958) ), and Perry Mason (1958; 1959).

In 1956 she met the American film actor Richard Egan , with whom she appeared in public since December 1956. The marriage took place in June 1958. The marriage resulted in five children, four daughters and a son.

Hardy, widowed since 1987, died at the age of 80 at her home in Los Angeles, Brentwood . Colon cancer was officially given as the cause of death .
