Patricia "Pat" Fiorello Russo (born June 12, 1952 in Trenton , New Jersey ) is an American manager.

Life

Russo graduated from Georgetown University and earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science and History in 1973, and Harvard University's Advanced Management Program (AMP) in 1989.

From her first job at IBM she moved to AT&T and in 2002 took over the management of Lucent Technologies . Russo led the company back into profitability and into a merger with the much larger Alcatel . On December 1, 2006, the new Alcatel-Lucent group started and Russo was in charge of its operations.

Forbes listed Russo in the top ten of " The World's 100 Most Powerful Women ".

In July 2008, Alcatel-Lucent announced the departure of Russo and the former CEO of Alcatel, Serge Tchuruk, the then Chairman of the Board of Directors. Alcatel-Lucent had lost more than 60% of its market value since the merger.

On July 23, 2009, Pat Russo was announced as a member of the General Motors Board of Directors. On November 1, 2015, she will become chairwoman of the board of the newly formed Hewlett Packard Enterprise .

Russo is married and has two stepchildren .
