Patrick Bear

Patrick Bär (born April 27, 1980 ) is a German basketball coach .

career

The  bear from Lauchhammer gained his first experience as a trainer at the age of 17, he then went to study in Chemnitz , where he also worked as a trainer in the youth department of the ChemCats Chemnitz .

From 2006 to 2012 he was coach of the women's team at TSV Nördlingen (or after the name change, BG Donau-Ries) as well as in the youth field. In 2008 he led Nördlingen women to promotion to the women's basketball league , in 2011 the Nördlingen women reached the final of the German club cup under his leadership, but lost there.

For the 2012/13 game year, Bär moved to the Bundesliga club SV Halle , which he coached until 2014 and then returned to Nördlingen in the summer of 2014 to train the Bundesliga women there again.

In addition to his duties as a club trainer, Bär also worked as a trainer for the German Basketball Association from 2011 . He looked after the female U16 national team at the B-EM 2011 and led the German selection at this tournament to win the gold medal without losing points. In 2012 he was the head coach of the female U18 national teams at the European B Championship. At the end of the 2018/19 season, Bär retired as a Nördlingen coach.
