Patrick Doeplah (born October 27, 1990 in Monrovia , † March 22, 2011 ibid) was a Liberian football player .
Career
Doeplah played from 2007 to 2009 in his home country for the capital clubs Mighty Barolle Monrovia and LISCR Monrovia in the Liberian Premier League . In 2009 he moved with his teammate George Baysah for a year on loan to the Israeli second division club Hapoel Kfar Saba . The club missed promotion to the highest Israeli league at the end of the season by a 0-1 defeat in the play-off game against Hapoel Ramat Gan . Doeplah was firmly signed for the 2010/11 season and was again in a promotion battle with the team.
The winger made his international debut on September 5, 2010 in the qualifier for the 2012 African Cup of Nations against Zimbabwe, and a month later he also played in another qualifier against Mali. Doeplah played with the Liberian Olympic team in qualifying for the 2012 Olympic football tournament at the end of 2010 . In the first round match against Sierra Leone, which went to penalties after a return leg, he converted the decisive penalty and was the best player on his team.
On March 21, Doeplah traveled to Monrovia to prepare with the Olympic selection for the upcoming second-round qualifier against Ivory Coast. He was found unconscious in his girlfriend's apartment on the morning of March 22nd and was pronounced dead shortly afterwards at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia. The cause of death should be clarified by an autopsy.
