Peter Zingoni (born April 28, 1981 in Bridgeport , Connecticut ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League since January 2011 for the remainder of the 2010/11 season .
Career
Peter Zingoni began his career as a hockey player at Providence College , which he attended from 2000 to 2004 and for whose ice hockey team he was also active in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . Towards the end of the 2003-04 season , the center for the Syracuse Crunch made its professional ice hockey debut when he scored two goals and two assists in five games in the American Hockey League . For the 2004/05 season he went to Europe for the first time, where he spent most of the season with the Moskitos Essen in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the further course of the season he also came to a total of five appearances for the Finnish clubs TPS Turku and Pelicans Lahti in the SM-liiga .
During the 2005/06 season , Zingoni was with the Trenton Titans in the ECHL under contract. He then played for the Philadelphia Phantoms in the AHL for two years . In the 2008/09 season , the left shooter stormed for the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL. The following season he moved to their league rivals Houston Eros , where he also began the 2010/11 season . In his second year with the Texans, however, he was only five times in the AHL on the ice, after which they handed him over to their cooperation partner Bakersfield Condors from the ECHL. In these he was able to convince and scored twelve points scorer in eight games, seven of which were goals. In January 2011, the American was finally signed by the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League . By the end of the season he scored four goals in 13 games for the Panthers, with which he missed the playoffs as bottom of the table.
