Patrick Doyon

Patrick Doyon (born May 17, 1979 in Desbiens , Québec , Canada ) is a Canadian animation filmmaker and graphic designer.

Life

Doyon studied graphic design at the Université du Québec à Montréal and already dealt with animation films during his studies. His short animation film debut 32:11 was made during his studies and was shown at various film festivals, including the Ottawa International Animation Festival and the Animafest Zagreb . After completing his studies, Doyon worked from 2004 to 2005 as a storyboard assistant and animator / designer for the television cartoon series Walter (2004) and Station X (2004–2005), among others .

From February to April 2006, he participated in the National Film Board of Canada's Hothouse project aimed at aspiring animated filmmakers. Doyon's short animation film Square Roots was made in 2006 as part of Hothouse . His third and so far last short animation film is Dimanche (2011).

Doyon also works as a graphic designer and, among other things, designed labels for the Microbrasserie du Lac St-Jean brewery in 2008. His illustrations also appear in various newspapers and magazines, including L'Actualité and Urbania .
