Patrick "Nyph" Funke (* 10. March 1990 ) is a German e-athlete in the game League of Legends .

Career

As a child, Nyph played a variety of games, including the Elder Scrolls franchise and Warcraft 3 . He came to League of Legends in early 2010 via the Warcraft Mod DotA . He rose to the rankings and joined the Gamed! De team , with whom he finished sixth in the first Riot League of Legends World Championships .

He later moved to SK Gaming with CandyPanda , where he achieved several top spots in the IEM tournament series and qualified again for the World Cup in 2012.

After a mixed year in 2013 with SK and the narrowly missed qualification for the Season 3 World Championship, he switched to the newly formed Team Alliance at the end of December 2013 . With Alliance he won the LCS Summer Split 2014 and took part in his third world championship. There he was eliminated with his team again in the preliminary round. In early 2015 it was announced that the League of Legends team from Alliance would change its name to Elements as part of the LCS ' newly introduced Sale of Sponsorships Rule .

Before the sixth week of the 2015 Spring Split, Nyph was replaced by Mitch "Krepo" Voorspoels. However, he stayed with Elements and became the team's coach. After the takeover of Elements by FC Schalke 04 in May 2016, he worked as a coach for the team in the 2016 Summer Split, but left after relegating the LCS at the end of the split.

successes

With the teams Gamed! De, SK Gaming and Alliance, Nyph took top places in several international esports tournaments.
