Patrick Gerigk

Patrick Gerigk (born April 16, 1972 in Berlin ) is a former German American football player.

career

Gerigk studied media and English at the University of the Pacific , California , in the early 1990s, and played for the college's football team. He then played for the Berlin Rebels until 1996 , in 1996 he was in the service of the Braunschweig Lions , and in 1997 the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes . He was appointed to the German national team in 1997. Together with his teammates Marco Knorr and Pascal Ritzheim , who were selected in the same year, he was one of the first national players for Kiel. In 1999 he played for Frankfurt Galaxy ( NFL Europe ) and won the World Bowl with the team at the end of June 1999 . In 2000, the wide receiver (who also served as quarterback in his career ) moved from Kiel to the Hamburg Blue Devils . Gerigk played on the Elbe until 2002 and during this time he won the German championship twice with the Blue Devils (2001, 2002).

For the 2007 season, the 1.83 meter tall Gerigk returned to the Berlin Rebels (second division). In 2008 he ended his career. In autumn 2010 he became an advisor to the regional league team Bremen Firebirds. At the Ritterhude Badgers (Regionalliga) he became a member of the coaching staff, looked after the receivers and was responsible for coordinating the attacking game from the 2014 season.

With the German national team, he became vice-European champion in 2000.
