biography

Dust began his career with participation in FIS races and in the European Cup , from 1988 he also started in the World Cup . He scored his first World Cup points on January 15, 1989, when he was 15th in the Hahnenkamm Slalom in Kitzbühel . Due to injuries, he had to miss almost the entire 1989/90 season. However, he was soon able to establish himself again in midfield.

Dust was never quite enough for a podium in a World Cup race. Overall, he was fourth three times; on January 13, 1992 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , on March 22, 1992 in Crans-Montana and on December 15, 1992 in Madonna di Campiglio . He also achieved fourth place in the slalom at the 1992 Winter Olympics . In the 1991/92 season he was the eighth best slalom driver in the world over the entire winter.

Good results in the World Cup were increasingly lacking, which is why dust was increasingly used again in the European Cup. In the 1992/93 season he won the slalom classification of the European Cup, and in the 1993/94 season he also won the overall classification. In December 1996 he competed in the World Cup for the last time, and at the end of the 1995/96 season he retired from top-class sport.
