Patriots of Micronesia

Patriots of Micronesia ( German  Patriots of Micronesia ) has been the national anthem of the Federated States of Micronesia since 1991 . This hymn replaced the hymn Preamble , which had been in use since 1976 .

The melody is that of the German song I have surrendered , which immediately after the Second World War had the function of a German substitute national anthem . The text of the hymn is also similar to this song right down to the individual formulations. It is not known whether the decision-makers of the Micronesian Federation were actually inspired by the fact that it was a folk song from the former colonial power Germany , or whether the song was known from school lessons there during the German colonial era.
