Te Atua Mou E.

Te Atua Mou E is the national anthem of the Cook Islands . It was made the official national anthem in the constitution in 1982 and replaced the previous New Zealand anthem God Defend New Zealand .

The music comes from the then Prime Minister Sir Thomas Davis (* June 11, 1917, † July 26, 2007), the words from his second wife Te Rito (* 1923, † February 1990), who as Pa Tepaeru of the House of Ariki is the highest traditional Held leadership position in the country.
