Paul-André Foucault
Paul-André Foucault (born July 25, 1893 in Fontainebleau , † September 14, 1959 ) was a French medic .
Life
Foucault was the son of Marie Sophie Louise de Cuvillon and the doctor Paul-Victor Foucault.
He worked as a surgeon in Poitiers and as a professor of anatomy at the École de médecine in the same city.
In 1924 he married Anne-Marie Malapert, daughter of a surgeon; with her he had three children, including Michel Foucault .
He was awarded the Croix de guerre .
Luc Montagnier , the Nobel laureate in medicine, described him as a “brilliant anatomist”.
