Paul Antony Mullassery

Paul Antony Mullassery (born January 15, 1960 in Kaithakody , Kerala , India ) is an Indian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Quilon .
Life
Paul Antony Mullassery attended St. Raphael's Minor Seminary and Trinity Lyceum in Kollam , then the Pontifical Seminary of St. Joseph in Aluva. He was ordained a priest on December 22, 1984 . He then studied in Rome and obtained a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Urban University . Mullassery received another doctorate from the Pontifical Gregorian University . During the holidays he was often active as a pastor in Germany, u. a. several times in Groß-Umstadt .
On his return to India he advanced to the position of Chancellor of the Diocesan Curia of the Quilon Diocese as well as Deputy Vicar General and Episcopal Vicar in pastoral matters. In 1997 he became professor of canon law at the Theological College of Tillery, Kollam; In 2006 he received the title of Papal Honorary Chaplain (Monsignor).
From 2013 Paul Antony Mullassery served as an official , since 2017 as vicar general of his diocese.
On April 18, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Quilon; on June 3, 2018, his predecessor Stanley Roman ordained him episcopal.
Bishop Mullassery is an expert on questions of canon law and has a great interest in church history.
