Paul books

Paul Bücher (born March 25, 1891 in Düsseldorf ; † September 5, 1968 there ) was a German landscape painter and glass painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Books received artistic training under Josef Bruckmüller (1880–1932) and Fritz Helmuth Ehmcke at the Düsseldorf School of Applied Arts . He then moved to the Düsseldorf Art Academy , where Hans Kohlschein and Franz Kiederich were his teachers. His training was interrupted by military service as a volunteer in World War I, from which he returned to the academy in 1919. Books later went on study trips to Holland and other European countries as well as North Africa.

Books was a member of the Düsseldorf art association Malkasten , where he had an exhibition in 1966.

His complete work includes stained glass windows with figurative representations, wall paintings and panel paintings . Later his focus was on landscape painting. He often chose motifs from the Lower Rhine .
