Hirschenau is a village in the municipality of St. Nikola an der Donau in the Perg district in Upper Austria .
Hirschenau looks like an enclave in Lower Austria , because it is surrounded on four sides by Lower Austria, but is still connected to the rest of the municipality via a narrow stretch of land along the Danube . The place is accessed from the Donau Straße . The Donauuferbahn with the Hirschenau-Nöchling stop also runs through the village, but is no longer served. On January 1st, 2020 there were 55 residents in Hirschenau.
