Paul Baranzelli (born March 19, 1980 ) is a former Australian ice hockey player who has played over 150 games in the Australian Ice Hockey League during his career .
Career
Paul Baranzelli began his career as a hockey player with the Iron Range Yellow Jackets in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League. In the 2009 season he made his debut for the Sydney Bears in the Australian Ice Hockey League . After a year with Sydney Heat in the lower class East Coast Super League, he played from 2012 to 2014 for the Sydney Ice Dogs , with whom he won the Goodall Cup , the Australian national championship, in 2013. From 2015 he played for league rivals Melbourne Ice before retiring from active professional sport in August 2017.
International
For Australia Baranzelli first took part in the 2015 World Cup in Division II, when he and his team had to accept relegation from the A to the B group of the division. In 2016 , as the best defender of the tournament, he made a significant contribution to the immediate resurgence of his team and then played again in the A group of Division II at the 2017 World Cup .
