Paul Burnley

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paul Burnley (actually: Paul Bellany ) is a British right-wing rock singer and founding member of Blood and Honor .

Life

Paul Burnley grew up as the son of the Scottish painter John Bellany together with his older brother John. After he and his brother hit the skinhead scene in the mid-1980s , the two changed their last name to Burnley to save their father any trouble. While John Burnley was the drummer at Skrewdriver , Paul founded No Remorse in 1986 and sat with Ian Stuart Donaldson at the head of the right-wing organization Blood and Honor. Burnley was responsible for Blood and Honor magazine, which he had printed through Anthony Hancock's print shop . Burnley ensured in the 1990s that the British Movement in Blood and Honor gained increased influence. In addition to No Remorse, he founded the Public Enemy project in 1989 (no connection with the US group of the same name ) and Paul Burnley and the Fourth Reich in 1991.

When Ian Stuart Donaldson was killed in a traffic accident on September 24, 1993, Combat 18's Will Browning and Burnley both claimed leadership roles in Blood and Honor. After a physical attack by Browning on Burnley, the latter withdrew and cleared the way for the leadership role of Combat 18, which appeared much more aggressive a short time later. Burnley only apparently withdrew and organized with the labels Nordland and Resistance Records , which also had their problems with Combat 18. The projects Stormbringer, No Fear (with Nigel von Retaliator) and Kindred Spirit (with the Swedish group Svastika) date from this time. Burnley never regained the influence he had in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Burnley then withdrew from the scene. In 2002 he published a biography about Ian Stuart under the pseudonym Paul London in the Swedish Midgård publishing house.

Paul Bellany studied visual communication at the University of Cambridge and graphic design in Chelsea after leaving the right-wing scene . He currently works for NFTS Digital Post Production and has made a documentary about his father for the Scottish regional program on BBC Two .
