Sylvia Arnold (born November 10, 1990 in Dresden ) is a German soccer player .

Career

Arnold's football career began together with her twin sister Julia at SG 90 Braunsdorf . Together they first moved to 1. FFC Fortuna Dresden-Rähnitz and in 2006 to the second division club FF USV Jena. With Jena, Arnold rose to the Bundesliga in 2008 . On September 7, 2008 (1st matchday) she made her debut in the 3-2 defeat at home against Hamburger SV . Arnold scored her first two Bundesliga goals on October 22, 2008 (9th matchday) in a 3-1 win at home against SG Essen-Schönebeck . Two years later she was in the cup final , which was lost 1-0 to FCR 2001 Duisburg . On June 15, 2012, the midfielder left the FF USV Jena and signed a two-year contract with SC Freiburg . In the summer of 2017, she moved within the Bundesliga to SC Sand , where she ended her active career in 2019.

National team

Arnold was appointed to the German team for the U-20 World Cup in 2010 and became world champion with her.
