Paul Doucette

Paul Doucette (born August 22, 1972 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American musician . He is best known for the alternative rock band matchbox twenty .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1990, he first played with Rob Thomas and Brian Yale in the band Tabithas Secret . After founding matchbox twenty, he first became the band's drummer. Further members are again Rob Thomas and Brian Yale as well as Adam Gaynor and Kyle Cook . After Adam Gaynor left matchbox twenty in 2005, Paul Doucette took over his part as guitarist in the band. From then on, the drummer was Ryan McMillan .

In June 2002, Doucette married Moon Zappa , a daughter of the musician Frank Zappa . The daughter Mathilda Plum emerged from the marriage in 2004. In January 2012, Zappa announced that she had filed for divorce; this became legally valid in April 2014.

Solo projects

During matchbox twenty's break, which lasted from 2003 to 2007, he, like frontman Rob Thomas, devoted himself to his own solo project, which in the case of Paul Doucette was called The break and repair method . He also wrote a song for the US children's television station Nickelodeon and was a drummer in a song on Rob Thomas' solo album Something to be .
