Paul Vincent Elzey (born May 13, 1946 in Toledo , Ohio , † September 29, 1989 there ) was an American American football player. He played one season in the position of linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals in the American Football League .

college

Elzey attended the University of Toledo from 1965 to 1968 , where he practiced football and wrestling for the Toledo Rockets College . He became the first athlete to win the Mid-American Conference in two different sports.

Baltimore Colts

In the 1968 NFL Draft , Elzey was selected as the 126th player in the fifth round by the Baltimore Colts .

Cincinnati Bengals

Before the 10th matchday of the AFL, the Cincinnati Bengals signed Elzey, but dismissed him before the last matchday.

After football

After his career as a football player, he worked as a wrestling coach at a high school . He died on September 29, 1989 at the age of 43 as a result of a car accident.
