Works

Detatom (1936)

In an industrial plant, radium can be produced in any quantity by atomic destruction. The plant is threatened by a financial group. It tries to protect itself through clever defense from the air, from the ground and from below. However, the powerful enemy succeeds in penetrating the headquarters of the plant. However, the catastrophe that occurs cannot slow the German researchers' thirst for action. You are building a new plant underground; a new material is being produced there, harder than steel and lighter than air. This technical achievement makes space flight to the moon and also to Mars possible.

The core of the novel is the journey to Mars, where remains of a technically superior high culture are found. The hero and his faithful servant research this and lay the foundation for a colonization through their society, which presents itself as an autonomous power detached from state power.

Before the book was published, Detatom appeared in the newspaper as an episode novel in the Berliner Lokal-Anzeiger , 53 (1935) 228 of September 22, 1935 in 29 episodes up to 53 (1935) 257 of October 26, 1935 and under the title “Das Rätsel Detatom ”in the Hannoversche Anzeiger from November 24, 1935 to January 11, 1936.

Southeast Venus (1940)

Scheduled air traffic exists between Earth and Mars. There is a colony of humans on Mars. During a scheduled flight between Earth and Mars, a traffic rocket crashes and has to make an emergency landing on Venus. The crew and passengers are amazed to see an environment as it existed on earth millions of years ago. Horsetail, seal trees and ferns of huge sizes, swampy areas, dinosaurs and huge lizards populate the planet. After dangerous adventures, the stranded return home to earth.

The novel is based on the technical and scientific findings of the time and is an exciting journey into the future from the perspective of 1940.

The novel is the direct sequel to Detatom. Mars is colonized. When an epidemic, Mars fever, breaks out there, the fastest cargo spaceship you have is sent out to deliver the vaccine that will save you. Here you choose a course through Venus' orbit close to the sun to save time, otherwise the colony will die. A meteor shower hits the cargo ship, which then crashes on Venus, which presents itself as a primeval jungle world, as was imagined in the 1930s.

In the portrayal of the Mars colony and the depiction of the spaceship, which incidentally lands and does not land, the novel was ahead of the standards of the genre of contemporary future literature of its time. Well thought-out spaceship constructions and well-versed concepts of a spacesuit are presented, which contrasts with the cardboard comrades of the stylized main characters.

Insula (posthumously 1953)

The novel describes the effects a complete chemical diet can have on the human community.

On a flight to Australia, a geophysicist has to make an emergency landing on a small volcanic island. On this island, assumed to be uninhabited, he discovers an underground city. This is equipped with everything imaginable, the city is ruled by a reclusive well-known researcher and scientist whose goal is the chemical production of all food. The geophysicist is forced to cooperate and to stay. A thousand other people are also forced to cooperate. The goal of the researcher and scientist is world domination.

Angolesa (posthumously 1954)

This story is about the man-made production of gold and the impact this invention will have on the world of tomorrow.

Dr. After many attempts and intensive research, Peter Förster finally succeeded in producing gold from sea water. The entire economy, stock exchanges and currencies are threatened with collapse; the mighty of the world see their power threatened. All those who, through the invention of Dr. Foresters have problems trying to thwart his stroke of genius. A daring pursuit of Dr. Forester, in which the nature of Africa is also included.
