Paul Frölich (organ builder)

Paul Frölich (* 1720 , † after 1774 ) was a German organ builder in Prussia and Courland .

Life

Paul Frölich came from Berlin . In 1759 he had an organ building workshop in Frauenburg in Warmia. From this one new organ and another attributed one is known. In 1759 a Daniel Frölich worked there. It is unclear whether this was a son or the same person.

In 1759 Paul Frölich had settled in Goldingen (Kuldīga) in Courland . From there he built several organs. The last work is known from 1774.

Organs (selection)

Six new buildings, one attribution, two repairs and one new building by Daniel Frölich are known by Paul Frölich , in Polish Prussia , Courland and Lithuania .

The brochures in Niedźwiedzica (Bärwalde) and Kończewice (Kunzendorf) have been preserved. These have two side towers with a lower center, which is unusual for Prussia at this time.
