Paul Grote (writer)

Paul Grote (* 1946 in Berlin ) is a German writer.

Grote spent several years of his school days in Hanover . He then completed a commercial training (advertising clerk) in Düsseldorf . After a few years in business, he went to the University of Hamburg and studied social sciences, sociology and political science.

After a stay in Vienna , Grote got a job in a Hamburg publishing house. In the following years he toured South America often and for a long time; u. a. he spent six years in the Amazon . He wrote for newspapers and magazines such as FAZ , Die Zeit (or their “magazine”), Focus , Geo and Merian .

Returned to Germany, he settled in Berlin as a freelance writer. His debut, the detective novel Death in Bordeaux , was highly praised by both the public and the critics, and so up to now, more novels of this genre have followed almost every year.
