Paul Halla (born April 10, 1931 in Graz , † December 6, 2005 in Vienna ), called "Schlepperl", was an Austrian football player .

Career

Halla began his footballing career at SK Sturm Graz as a youth player, but played from 1951 to 1953 as a right midfielder for city rivals Grazer AK . Halla moved from GAK to the Austrian record champions Rapid Wien in 1953 . For the Hütteldorfer he played a total of 346 competitive games by 1965, was five times Austrian champion and one Austrian cup winner.

On November 23, 1952, he made his debut in the game against Portugal (1-1) in the Austrian national team , for which he played 34 international matches and scored two goals. Paul Halla sensationally finished third with the national team at the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland and also took part in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden . Halla was active as an active soccer player until 1976.

Paul Halla died on December 6, 2005 as a result of gastric surgery and was buried on December 16, 2005 at the Vienna Central Cemetery.
