Paul Koenke

Paul Könke (born May 3, 1870 in Wittenborn , Mecklenburg-Strelitz ; † 20th century) was a German politician (DDP).

Live and act

Könke was born the son of a primary school teacher , from whom he was also taught. He also learned the Latin language from his pastor. He then completed a practical apprenticeship as a painter in Prenzlau. Later, Könke attended the arts and crafts schools in Nuremberg and Munich . This was followed by many years of activity as a decorative painter and draftsman in Vienna , Zurich , Geneva , Paris and London . During this time, Könke learned French and English. In 1907 he settled in Berlin, where from 1910 he was also a member of the board of the painters' guild. In 1913 he also took over the post of conductor of the municipal college for painters.

After the First World War , Könke belonged to the German Democratic Party (DDP), for which he entered the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic in October 1924 as a substitute for the resigned deputy Carl Friedrich von Siemens , in which he represented constituency 2 (Berlin), and to which he belonged until December 1924.
