Athletic career

Kaiser belongs to the generation that rebuilt football in central Saxon Chemnitz after the end of the Second World War and laid the foundation stone for FC Karl-Marx-Stadt , which became football champions of the GDR in 1967. Kaiser was in his mid-twenties when he played for the Chemnitz district championship for the Chemnitz Nord sports club. In 1948 it was taken over by the company sports community (BSG) Fewa Chemnitz, which in 1950 was one of the founding communities of the second-rate GDR league . In the first GDR league season he played 15 of the 18 point games played, initially as a defender, later as a half-left striker. During this season the BSG was renamed Chemnitz Chemnitz. In 1951/52 Kaiser was absent only once in the GDR league games and had a regular position as a defender. In his third league season he was put by coach Haueisen on the right side of the defense, which he retained in the 1953/54 season. The BSG, now taking on the name of Chemistry Karl-Marx-Stadt in accordance with the city's renaming, made it to the GDR league this season, in which Kaiser played a decisive role as team captain with 24 point matches and one goal. With the last game of the season, he had played 82 games (91% rate) and scored five goals in a total of 90 games within four seasons. At the age of 32, he began his first national first division season in 1954/55. While he played in his usual place on the right defensive side in the first half of the season, coach Heinz Hartmann put him in the central defensive position in the second half of the season. On April 24, 1955, Kaiser played his last competitive game for the league team of BSG Chemie. In the home game of the last round of the season against SC Rotation Leipzig (1: 1) he was substituted on again in the 78th minute. It was his 23rd game in the GDR Oberliga, in which he was without a goal.
