Paul Kalinowski

Paul Kalinowski (born October 16, 1893 in Graudenz ; † January 30, 1968 in Westerburg ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( center , CDU ).

Life

Kalinowski attended elementary school and was a soldier in World War I from 1914 to 1918 . In 1920 and 1921 he attended the adult education center and University of Rostock before he became a full-time trade union secretary in Dortmund and Trier, among others. From 1923 to 1933 he was district leader of the Christian trade unions in Westerburg. After the Nazis came to power , he lost his job and was unemployed for three years. After that he was employed by the Wehrmacht at General Command XII in Wiesbaden. From 1945 to 1957 he was a district inspector or district chief inspector at the district office of the Oberwesterwaldkreis in Westerburg.

Since 1911 he was a member of the center and the Christian trade unions. For this he was a member of the district committee in Westerburg. In the time of National Socialism he could not continue his political work. In 1934 he became a member of the Nazi war victims' pension , in 1936 of the German Labor Front (DAF) and in 1941 of the National Socialist People's Welfare (NSV).

In 1945 he was a founding member of the CDU in the Oberwesterwaldkreis. From 1947 to 1957 he represented his party in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for three electoral terms . In the Landtag he was a member of the Agricultural Policy Committee, the Borderlands Committee, the Legal and Rules Committee, the Social Policy Committee and the Economic and Transport Committee. In the second electoral term he was a member of the Budget and Finance Committee and Committee on Petitions, and in the third term of office he was a member of the Committee on Social Policy and Issues of Displaced Persons and the Committee on Petitions.

In 1954 he was a member of the 2nd Federal Assembly .
