Paul Knoblach (born September 6, 1954 in Werneck ) is a German politician. As a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , he has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since 2018 .

Life

education and profession

Paul Koblach was employed as a trained mechanic at SKF in Schweinfurt . At the end of the 1970s he trained as a nurse. He worked in this profession until 2017, completing training as a ward manager in 1988 and training as a specialist nurse for psychiatry in 1994 . In 1978 he also took over his parents' farm, which he converted to organic farming in 1992 . Since the conversion of the farm in 1992, he has been a member of the Naturland Association for Organic Farming .

Party career

Knoblach has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 2011 . His political home is the Green District Association in Schweinfurt .

Paul Knoblach was a member of the Bergrheinfeld local council for 18 years .

Knoblach has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the district council of the Schweinfurt district since 2014 . He is a member of the district committee.

Knoblach has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since the state elections in Bavaria in 2018 . In the constituency of Lower Franconia, Knoblach achieved the third-best overall vote on the list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and thus moved into the Bavarian state parliament . Knoblach is a member of the Committee for Food, Agriculture and Forestry there.

Paul Knoblach is married and has two sons.

Commitment to organic farming

Knoblach has been a member of the Naturland organic farmers' association since 1992. There he was in the meantime state board member in Bavaria and a member of the presidium.

From 2007 to 2009 Knoblach was one of the initiators of the fight against the cultivation of genetically modified maize, MON 810 , in Lower Franconia.

Awards

2001: Awarded the Organic Farming Prize for model free-range husbandry for organic pigs by Federal Minister Renate Künast .

2010: Awarded the Bavarian State Medal by Agriculture Minister Brunner
