Paul Koch (lawyer)

Paul Koch (lawyer) (born January 23, 1879 in Braunschweig ; † November 24, 1959 there ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Born the son of a master baker, Koch studied law in Jena after attending the Braunschweig grammar school . During his studies in 1898 he became a member of the Germania Jena fraternity . After exams and legal clerkship, he became a district judge in Braunschweig in 1914, a district judge in 1917 and a public prosecutor in 1919 . In 1926 he became district judge and in 1932 Braunschweig attorney general . He had been a member of the German National People's Party since 1920 and of the NSDAP around 1933 . Nevertheless, he was dismissed as attorney general because the National Socialists did not consider him tough enough. He became regional court director at the regional court in Braunschweig , but quit his service in 1936.
