Paul Korth-Cortini

Paul Korth (born April 6, 1890 in Tilsit , † November 14, 1954 in Copenhagen ) was a German magician and illusionist. He performed under the names Cortini and Korth-Cortini .

As a teenager he began to be interested in magic. He completed an apprenticeship as a baker and confectioner and became a professional magician after the end of the First World War. He performed not only in Germany, but also in the USA.

He was known as "The Man with the 100,000 Talers" . He is also considered to be the inventor of the newspaper tearing trick and the swing illusion.

He died of a stroke while performing on stage in Copenhagen.
