Paul Liman

Paul Liman (born February 8, 1860 in Schneidemühl , † January 28, 1916 in Charlottenburg ) was a German writer and publicist .

Life

Liman studied history , languages ​​and philosophy in Halle , Berlin and Kiel from 1877 to 1882 . After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher in Merano until 1889 . In 1890 he became political editor of the Dresdener Nachrichten . The articles he published after the Reich Chancellor was dismissed by Kaiser Wilhelm II were characterized by a basic attitude that was friendly to Bismarck . His first work Bismarck und der Hof (Dresden 1892, anonymous) had 32 editions in just a few weeks.

Liman later co-founded the Leipziger Neuesten Nachrichten and became its first political editor. Study trips took him to Italy and the Balkan countries.

Known as an enthusiastic Bismarck supporter, the journalist lived in Berlin. Historians classify Liman as an influential - because effective - Claqueur Bismarck.
