Paul Louis Émile Loiseau-Rousseau (born April 20, 1861 in Paris , France , † 1927 there ) was a French sculptor .

Life

Loiseau-Rousseau was a student of the sculptor Théophile Barrau . At the turn of the century he exhibited at the salons of the Société nationale des beaux-arts , where he won a third class medal in 1892 and a second class medal three years later. He was awarded the gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900 and was accepted into the Legion of Honor as a knight in 1901 . His busts, animal figures and statuettes, often with African themes, are assigned to Art Nouveau .

Some of his works were handcrafted by the sculptor François Rudier and the Éditeur d'art (art publisher) and sculptor Arthur Goldscheider .
