Paul Moller

Paul Sandner Moller (born December 11, 1936 ) is a Canadian developer and inventor of the Moller Skycar .

Life

Moller grew up in Trail in the Canadian province of British Columbia , attended high school and from 1957 to 1958 the Polytechnic Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary . He then began working for the Montreal- based aircraft manufacturer Canadair and then attended McGill University in Montreal, where he received his doctorate in 1964 . In McGill there was no teaching post during this time, so he taught as a professor from 1963 to 1975 at the University of California, Davis Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering in Davis (California) . He is retired and lives with his wife Rosa Maria in Dixon (California) .

Companies

Moller has been developing vertical take-off aircraft since 1964. Since 1983 he has been running the Moller Corporation in Davis , whose goal is the development of a four-seater flying car, the two-seater predecessor of which has been flying since 2003. Moller and his wife also own Freedom Motors , which took over the rotary engine division of the Outboard Marine Corporation and developed and produced the engines.
