Paul Murray (born May 8, 1977 in Durban ) is a former Australian cross-country skier .

Career

Murray took part in the Cross-Country Continental Cup from 2000 to 2004 . He ran his first World Cup race in December 2000 in Engelberg , which he finished with 58th place in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2001 in Lahti , he finished 55th in the sprint and 65th place over 15 km classic. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme , he reached 58th place in the sprint and 69th place over 15 km classic. From 2004 to 2010 he took part in the Australia / New Zealand Cup. He got five wins and won the overall ranking in 2007. His best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 2005 were 31st place in the sprint and 18th place in the team sprint. In February 2005 in Reit im Winkl he got his first and only World Cup points with 29th place. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Pragelato , he took 51st place in the sprint. His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo were 37th place in the sprint and 14th place in the team sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , he reached 57th place in the sprint. After the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , where he finished 55th in the sprint and 20th in the team sprint, he ended his career.
