Paul Nemeth (born February 25, 1965 in Böblingen ) is a CDU politician. He has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament since 2006 .

education and profession

From 1981 to 1983 Nemeth trained as an industrial clerk at IBM Stuttgart; he was elected youth representative and overall youth representative of IBM Germany in 1982. From 1984 to 1985 he did his military service . He held various finance, administration, marketing and sales positions at IBM from 1985 to 1993 and was appointed manager in 1993. In 1994 he became branch and sales manager and from 1997 to 1998 he was global marketing manager for e-commerce in New York, USA. In 1999 he was appointed Director Sales.

Life

Nemeth has been a member of the CDU since 1983 and has been chairman of the CDU City Association of Böblingen since 1999. He was elected to the Böblingen City Council for the first time in 1989 at the age of 24, to which he was a member until December 2006 - with a career-related interruption. Since 2002 he has been a member of the Böblingen district council .

With the state election on March 26, 2006, Nemeth was directly elected with 43.2% of the votes and represents the state constituency of Böblingen in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg. In his first term of office he was a member of the economic and petitions committee of the state parliament and energy policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.

In the state elections on March 27, 2011, Nemeth was re-elected to the state parliament. He received 41.07% of the vote. He is a member of the committee for the environment, climate and the energy industry, a member of the parliamentary committee and energy policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group and state commissioner for expellees and repatriates. On November 18, 2019, he announced that he would no longer run for the state election in 2021 .

Family and private

Paul Nemeth is Catholic. He is married and has two children.
