Paul Nicholas Lekuraa
Paul Nicholas Lekuraa (* 1972 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running.
In 2003 he won the half marathon of Marcq-en-Barœul in 1:02:33 h, and in 2004 he finished fifth in the half marathon Le Lion in 1:03:09 and eighth in the Reims Marathon in 2:18:59 hours. However, he returned to his homeland disappointed because he felt that his managers had betrayed his prize money.
It was not until 2008 that he resumed his career after he was invited by Paul Tergat to his training camp at Ngong . Tergat put the manager in contact with Zane Branson, and so Lekuraa was registered for the Athens marathon . Although he did not arrive until the day before the run due to visa problems, had to get new running shoes because his old ones were five years old and torn at the sides, and started the race with a migraine , with 2:12:42 he was almost two Minutes below the old course record and prevailed in a sprint decision against his compatriot Julius Seureu Kiprotich, who was also rated at the same time .
In 2009 he finished eighth in the Prague Marathon .
Paul Nicholas Lekuraa belongs to the Samburu ethnic group , is married and has four children. Because of the similarity of names, he is often confused with his compatriot Paul Lokira , born in 1983, who was successful in Italian road races in the mid-2000s.
