Paul Prellwitz

Franz Paul Prellwitz (born August 18, 1886 in Graudenz ; † January 26, 1957 in Hamburg ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( NSDAP ).

Prellwitz attended high schools in Deutsch Krone and Hohensalza. In 1904 he entered the preparatory service for the middle career of the judiciary. In 1909 he became court secretary. From 1914 to 1918 he did military service. After the war he became senior secretary and judicial inspector. He was married. From August 1, 1933 to April 1938, he was a senator and city councilor in Harburg-Wilhelmsburg. On April 12, 1938, he became director of the Hamburg Youth Welfare Office and on November 1, 1939, head of the Hamburg social administration. From December 1943 to November 1944 he was head of the “War Damage” department in Hamburg. On June 21, 1945 he was dismissed from civil service on the instructions of the military government.

On July 10, 1925, he joined the NSDAP (membership number 10.217) and on July 18, he founded the local branch of the NSDAP in Harburg. On May 20, 1928, he ran unsuccessfully for the Reichstag. After the seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933 he became a member of the county council of the province Hanover and from April to 10 July 1933 the Prussian State Council. From October 1933 to April 1938 he was Gauwalter of the RDB and Gauamtsleiter of the office for officials of the Gaus Osthannover of the NSDAP. After the war, he was released by the military administration in June 1945 and later subjected to a denazification process.
